EAG JET’s COVID-19 Charter: Safe Chartering
Our approach to safety goes well beyond industry standards and now focuses on minimizing the risk of our passengers being exposed to COVID-19.
Based on best practices recommended by WHO and ASECNA, we have developed protocols for all of our flights. Our team works closely with accredited aircraft operators in our network to ensure that procedures are in place and consistently followed.
To guarantee you a safe charter, we apply the following rules:
Before the flight
Our 24/7 customer service team ensures that your flight documents are properly completed, to minimize time spent in the FBO or aviation terminal private. Whenever possible, we handle customs clearance and immigration formalities in advance.
If your flight experiences an unforeseen delay (a change of airport slot, for example), we will notify you immediately, allowing you to arrive at the terminal just before your new departure time. Whenever possible, we invite you to stay in your car and plan to drive you to the foot of the plane.
All surfaces of your jet cabin will have been disinfected before your flight by a specialized cleaning team.
The majority of African operators in our network treat their devices with Bacoban, the market leading disinfection product, which provides long-lasting protection against bacteria, fungi and viruses by leaving a sterile, ultra-thin, non-toxic film on surfaces. After each flight, the cabin is cleaned at least once and sealed before boarding the next group of passengers.
Crew health checks
Your plane’s crew are frequently tested for the presence of antibodies and the COVID-19 virus. Twice a day, they check and record their temperature and oxygen levels, and are relieved of their duties if these are above 37 degrees or below 95%, respectively. All aircrew avoid air travel as much as operationally possible and observe strict social distancing during their rest periods.
In accordance with our legal obligations and practical constraints, we limit your interactions as much as possible before you get on board. During the embarkation phase, the crew do not shake your hand and wear masks.
Whenever possible and for your safety, we recommend that you handle your own luggage. If you need assistance, the agents involved will wear gloves.
During the flight
Unless it is necessary for safety reasons, we give you the option of booking a flight without cabin crew. If the presence of a flight attendant is required, you can request that he or she wear a mask for the duration of the flight or only during periods of duty. It’s up to you if you want to remove your own mask.
On-board catering can be provided on a self-service basis so that you are the only one handling the food and drinks. Our customer service will address this at the time of booking to define your preferences before departure.
After landing, you will be escorted safely to your vehicle to limit your interactions with the crew and airport personnel.
After the flight
If any of the crew members test positive or show symptoms of COVID-19 within two weeks of the date of your flight, we will notify you immediately.
EAG JET is continually improving its procedures for your protection, and appreciates your comments and suggestions.
